Tesco in Workington has donated £500 to Workington in Bloom.
The money has been used to plant new trees at Headlands Close near the supermarket.
The aim of the Workington in Bloom project is to make the town greener, cleaner and safer.
Workington town council are heavily involved and it funds hanging baskets and floral displays in the area.
Leanne O’Connor, store manager of the Tesco store in Workington, said: "We really wanted to help our local council with the Workington in Bloom project.
"It is such a big part of the local community and we wanted to contribute in some way."
Councillor Joan Wright, mayor of Workington, said: "We’d like to thank Tesco for their generous donation which has helped us to plant some beautiful trees in Headlands Close.
"Workington in Bloom runs all year round and we want to encourage as many people as possible to get involved."
