Hillside and Pecklewell residents are preparing to join with Ewanrigg for Maryport's lantern parade on Sunday.
Lantern making workshops are being held at the Ewanrigg Community Centre and, tomorrow, families will be able to make their own lanterns at Hillside's autumn festival.
The Ewanrigg Local Trust lantern parade will be a fun event with a serious message.
On the back of the SOB campaign to save hospital beds, a huge bed-shaped lantern will be carried when the parade sets off at 5pm.
