WORKINGTON: A man remains in hospital after being hit by a car in Harrington Road on Tuesday. August 11 The 49-year-old was airlifted to the Royal Preston Hospital but his condition is said to be improving, according to police.
A pedestrian has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a collision in Workington yesterday afternoon.
Police and ambulance crews were called to the crash, involving the pedestrian and a Volkswagen Golf, on Harrington Road at about 4.20pm.
The pedestrian, a 49-year-old man, was taken to the hospital in Preston by the Great North Air Ambulance.
The car was driven by a 63-year-old man from Workington.
The busy road was closed between Douglas Road and Islay Place.
The Great North Air Ambulance landed on the field behind Victoria Infant and Nursery School.
The road was closed for around three hours.
