The Bike Bank on Market Place closed earlier this year after more than 20 years.
Olivia James Bridal by Tracy is set to open in the unit next September and work is under way.
Owner Tracy Watson is moving her business from Egremont.
She said: “The building ticks all of the boxes and has got a lot of character.
“When I took up the business three-and-a-half years ago I didn’t know how much of a success it would be, but we’ve come on in leaps and bounds and done really well.”
The Bike Bank closed in July.
