Cockermouth had higher turnout at polling stations during last month's EU referendum than any other town in Allerdale, figures have revealed.
Data released by Allerdale council shows that 3,740 of the 5,188 people eligible to cast their votes at polling stations in the town turned out - a figure of 72.1 per cent.
Keswick was close behind with a turnout of 71.7 per cent, with 2,136 of the eligible 2,979 voters putting pencil to paper in the polling stations.
Silloth saw a turnout of 69.4 per cent, with 63.9 per cent each in Aspatria and Wigton.
In Workington, 8,468 or 13,478 eligible electors turned out - 62.8 per cent.
In Cockermouth, the turnout was 3,740 out of 5,188 electors - 61.3 per cent.
The Allerdale polling station with highest turnout was Hesket Newmarket chapel at 89.3 per cent, followed by Buttermere Church Hall and Sebergham New Hall at 88.9 per cent each.
The borough's lowest turnout figure was 50 per cent at both the West Cumbria Credit Union Office in Moorbanks Road, Workington, and Lakes College at Lillyhall.
The breakdown does not include the 14,515 postal votes, which the council did not record by ward or associated polling station.
Allerdale council could not provide a breakdown of Leave or Remain votes.
