Workington is preparing to celebrate its twinning links with France at a free outdoor party.

Workington Town Council and the town's twinning association will host Party in the Park tomorrow to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the town's twinning links with Val de Reuil.

Vulcan Park will be filled with fun and games from 11am to 5.30pm, with highlights including live music on the Melodrome stage, along with performances from Workington and District Amateur Musical Society and John Hastings.

Also on offer will be a fun fair, street entertainers, storytelling, face painting, children's crafts and a climbing wall.

There will also be a visit from theatrical experience The Lift, an elevator on wheels that allows the audience to select one of nine different floor buttons, each triggering a particular performance.

Panna football coaching will be on offer, while the Fairly Famous Family will bring their Anyone For Tennis show and My Superhero will be in attendance with a selection of characters including some from Paw Patrol.

A traders market will offer a host of tasty treats and there will be charity fundraising stalls.

Party in the Park is sponsored by Amcor.
