Hundreds of people are expected at a family fun day in Cockermouth on Sunday, where one lucky person will be chosen to name one of the iconic Eddie Stobart trucks.

This will be the fourth time that the town's Rotary Club has organised the annual Touch A Truck Show which raises money for a range of charities.

There will be a huge selection of vehicles at James Walker’s factory site, off Gote Road, and the adjoining Deer Orchard football field.

Entry is £5 for adults and £2 for children, which includes free fairground rides, a bouncy castle, storyteller tent and entertainment.

Those attending will be able to pay £1 to suggest a female name for an Eddie Stobart wagon.

The winner will be drawn at the end of the show, at 4pm.

Joe Fagan, of the Rotary club, said: "We are very pleased to have most of the emergency services that were involved with the flood rescues as well as various vehicles from local companies. There will be at least 30 big vehicles for people to check out."

He was delighted with Stobart's offer and will be suggesting the name Sally-Anna, after his two daughters. "I think it's fantastic, I hope my name gets chosen!

"The trucks are one of those iconic brands which we are all proud of, it's great if a local person can get their name on one," said Joe.

The event runs from 10am to 4pm.
