Here is local information for over Christmas and new year and useful telephone numbers you may need over the festive period.

Health

Minor injury units will be open at Keswick Community Hospital, 24 hours a day, call 01768 245 678 and Maryport Community Hospital, seven days a week from 8.30am to 9.30pm, including bank holidays. Call 01900 812634.

Christmas Day

Adult social care offices will shut at 5pm on Christmas Eve until 9am on December 27. They will also be closed on News Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Children’s services head office in Carlisle will be open until 4.45pm today before closing until January 2.

All council offices and call centres will be closed from 4.30pm today until 9am on January 2.

Bins and recycling will be collected as normal on Christmas Eve, and other collections will be two days later than normal.

On New Year’s Eve, bin collections will be as normal and all other collections that week will be a day later than usual.

On Christmas Eve, services will operate a Saturday timetable.

No service will operate on Christmas Day or on Boxing Day.

On December 27, all services will operate a Saturday timetable and will finish around 7.30pm. On December 28 and 29, all services will operate a normal Saturday timetable.

On December 30, all services will operate a normal Sunday timetable.

On December 31, all services will operate a Saturday timetable. No service will operate on New Year’s Day and timetables will resume on January 2.

Service 600 will operate a special timetable.
