THE Times & Star has underlined its commitment to Cockermouth district news coverage with the opening of a new office in the town centre.

The office, situated at Mitchell’s Auction Company Limited in Station Road, maintains the newspaper’s historic links with the town.

The newspaper’s Cockermouth district reporters Karen Evans and Paul Crute are now based in the office.

Times & Star editor Steve Johnston said: “Our Cockermouth edition will benefit from this development which puts our dedicated town reporters at the heart of their community.”

A previous Times & Star district office in Cockermouth closed several years ago, and the former West Cumberland Times was printed and published in the town.

The office is now officially open, and people can call in to meet Paul or Karen between 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, or phone them on 01900 828752.
