NEW: Workington road closed after incident

WORKINGTON'S Murray Road was closed this morning after a 72-year-old woman pedestrian was involved in a collision with a Ford Fiesta car.
Police closed the road to traffic for 30 minutes while a team of paramedics, led by BASICS emergency response doctor Richard Goodwin, and with police assisting, transferred the woman into an ambulance.
She was taken to the West Cujmberland Hospital in Whitehaven for treatment.
The woman was named by her daughter at the scene as Nora Waddington, of Clitheroe, Lancashire.
She appeared to have hurt her leg but Dr Goodwin, a Workington GP, said her injuries were not life threatening.
Mrs Waddington was in town for the day with her daughter, Christine, who is a retail store manager.
The female car driver was interviewed by police at the scene. She was not named.
