A 66-YEAR-OLD man is in hospital after a road crash in Maryport. His condition is described as stable.
The incident closed John Street for three hours from about 4pm yesterday.
The man, from Workington, was walking on the street at the time of the incident, which also involved a Subaru Impreza, driven by a 25-year-old Dearham man.
Police are appealing for witnesses and, in particular, the driver of a blue delivery van that was parked on the junction of John and Crosby streets.
