The finalists for the CN Group Business Awards have been chosen, and judges say the standard is as high as ever.
The annual awards are run by CN Group, publisher of the Times & Star.
The judges have picked 47 finalists who include many businesses and individuals based in West Cumbria.
The 15 category winners will be revealed at a gala dinner at Carlisle Racecourse on October 16.
Marie Whitehead, director of CN Events, who chaired the judging panel, said: “We were spoilt for choice.”
The judging panel included two of last year’s winners. Tony O’Pray, managing director of TIS Cumbria in Workington, received the award for joint winner of manufacturing business of the year, while David Hymers, boss of Totalpost Services in Alston, was businessperson of the year.
Also judging were Rob Johnston, chief executive of Cumbria Chamber of Commerce, and Julian Whittle, business editor of The Cumberland News.
