Workington pub granted 4.30am licence

A Workington pub will be allowed to remain open until 4.30am on the weekend before Christmas.

Allerdale council’s licensing panel approved an application by Padua House, on Washington Street, to extend its opening hours by one hour on Saturday, December 21, and Sunday, December 22.

The council’s environmental health department and the police both objected to the application.

Environmental health said that if granted it would cause a nuisance to people living near the Washington Street pub.
