A GROUP of Maryport pub regulars will do the coast to coast walk for local charities in June.
They will include army charity, as serving soldier Sergeant Major Sean Todd is publican of the Captain Nelson pub.
The group, who have done the annual walk for the last four years, have raised around £13,000 in that time and have supported several local charities.
This year they aim to beat the £5,300 total they raised last year.
The money will be shared among Maryport’s youth charities, the Sea Cadets, the Boys Club and the Boy Scouts. Also on the list this year is Help for Heroes, which assists those wounded in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Brian Hodgson, Ian Todhunter, Brian Murdy, Greg Carter, Keith Tweedie, Greg Walling and Nick Sydney will set off on June 5.
Mr Murdy said people can join them, or they can sponsor them by calling into the Captain Nelson on South Quay or calling 01900 813109.
