Edison Lighthouse, a fashion show and assault course will liven up Workington town centre next weekend.

Local models will strut their stuff on the catwalk at the event, under the Hub, on Saturday August 29.

Organisers Maryport Festivals Limited hope the event will encourage people to do more of their shopping in Workington.

Edison Lighthouse, who had a number one hit Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes) in 1970, are performing and Britain's Got Talent contestant Emma Jones will also sing.

There will be an assault course for adults and children and face painting.

Local businesses will also be putting forward items of clothing for the event which will also coincide with the opening of new toy shop Entertainer.

The event runs from 11am to 4pm in The Hub.
