The Brow'ton Seven Plus charity cycling group will take on their annual pedal challenge next month.

A group of 14 riders are preparing to cycle to Greystoke near Penrith and back via Threlkeld and Keswick in a 68-mile round trip.

They are brothers Les, Peter and Mitch Gorley, John Wilson, Mally Martin, Alan Varty, John Dobie jnr, Craig Burns, Stephen Tyson, Lee Armstrong, Mike Rafferty, Wayne Johnstone, Gary Graham and Baz Basnett.

The team will be supported by John Dobie snr in a minibus sponsored by Shepley Engineering.

Money raised from the ride will go towards the village's annual over 60s outing and other local causes.

Collecting tins are in village businesses and people can sponsor the riders.

Sponsors can be in with the chance of winning a prize from Limelighting in Cockermouth by guessing the time it will take the group to complete the first day's riding.

The Brow'ton Seven, as it was previously called, began its charity rides in 1990 and has done them annually ever since.
