By-election to be called to fill vacant Workington Town Council seat
A by-election will decide who will fill a vacancy for Workington Town Council's Moorclose ward.
Workington Town Council has a vacancy in the Moorclose ward as former councillor Christine Johansson has failed to attend meetings without permission for six months.
The 10 signatures needed to call for a by-election have been presented to Allerdale council's returning officer and a notice of election is due to be issued soon.
It is expected the by-election will take place in September.
