Hundreds of people will fill the streets of Seaton for its annual children's carnival.

The event will take place on Saturday, June 11.

Judging will take place at Church Road, Causeway Road and the village green from 1pm and the festival procession will set off at 1.30pm.

Entrants who have not yet registered should go to the parish rooms on Causeway Road before judging.

Queens Charlotte Grimshaw, Rosie Walsh, Lola-Star Dawson, Lydia Iley, Annabell Weaver and herald Callum Hill will all be in the procession.

Dance troupes, Workington Town Band and members of Claire Ferguson School of Acro and Dance will also perform on the day.

The procession will head from the village green to the rugby field via Low Seaton, the Pack Horse pub, Causeway Road, Church Road, Main Road, Lowca Lane, Barncroft Avenue, Hunter's Drive and Main Road.

Lauren Dawson, chairman of the organising committee, said: "I'm always excited. I'm the third generation of committee members.

"It's 20 years since I was carnival queen so it's massive.

"It's something I always had as a child so it's important that we carry it on."

Roads will be closed from noon.

People can register to enter the carnival at the parish rooms on Causeway Road between 6pm and 7pm on Monday, June 6.
