If you're a busy trader in Cockermouth and have not got time to nip out to the town's Friday market, fear not - the cake trolley dolly can come to you!

The weekly local produce and crafts market is held every Friday, from 9am to noon, in the United Reformed Church, on Main Street.

Cockermouth woman Sue Cliff, who makes cakes for the market, has been delivering a selection of home-made goodies around the town centre on Fridays to various appreciative customers.

She is hoping even more businesses will sign up for a visit. People can either pre-order cakes or choose ones from her trolley.

Sue, of Greyrigg Avenue, said: "We've built up a regular clientele and I know what they want. Anyone else wanting me to pop in on a Friday morning should get in touch.

"Most places seem to have a bit of a treat on Friday morning with a coffee at 11am. I am happy to go to them if they cannot get to us. I take the trolley along Main Street and up Station Street.

"There's often good banter and it boosts the market coffers."

The county market sells a range of locally-produced cakes, bakes, jams, chutney, eggs, meringues, honey, jewellery, knitted goods, cards, and photos. It also sells home grown veg, plants, cut flowers and fruit.

Sue added: "We are desperate for more cakes so would like to hear from anyone interested in making some."

Trolley rounds are between 9.30am and 11am.

Any town centre businesses wanting a visit should contact Sue on 01900 267158.
