A woman with the sea in her blood used her 70th birthday to raise £333 for a voluntary lifeboat crew.
Diane Stevenson of Maryport asked people to make donations to Maryport Inshore Rescue instead of giving her gifts to mark her milestone.
Diane's grandfather Sydney Stevenson and great grandfather George Stevenson were both lifeboat men.
She decided that she would like to use her birthday as a chance to raise money for charity and Maryport Inshore Rescue was an obvious choice.
