Cumbria's remaining Apprentice contestant Rebecca Jeffery has survived another week on the show.

Rebecca, who is from Asby near Lamplugh, was part of Team Nebula, who lost this week's challenge – to run a department at the prestigious Liberty of London department store.

Rebecca, who runs a design and marketing business with her sister in Manchester, endured a nervous few moments in the boardroom as Nebula project manager Grainne changed her mind over who she would be bringing back to make their case to Lord Sugar.

She originally opted for Karthik Nagesan and Mukai Noiri – before instead opting for Karthik and Rebecca – but returned to her original choice when quizzed by Lord Sugar, who later chose to fire Mukai.

Rebecca found herself subject of some discussion among her team, who had chosen to sell upmarket handbags.

Grainne decided not to place her in the shop window modelling the handbags, despite members of Nebula saying that it would help to increase sales.

Discussing why they lost the task, Rebecca said: “The other team did have someone in their window and in hindsight maybe that did translate into a sale.”

Asked about the decision by Lord Sugar Grainne said: “She was selling and she was approachable.”
