A Workington woman is celebrating after winning a national competition to create the best hairstyle for a bride.

Diane Slack, 26, of Coniston Close, entered the Wella Selfie competition which was run by salon supplies firm Capital Hair and Beauty.

Entrants had to upload a photo to social media of their client's wedding hair and detail the products used.

Diane's entry showed her work on the bridal hair of Kimberley Farrer, also of Workington.

She won a hamper of hair dyes worth £300.

Kimberley was recommended to Diane by hair and make-up artist Terri Grisdale of Manchester.

Diane said: "I saw it on Facebook and I thought I would give it a go.

"I'm delighted and I was really shocked to win."

Diane has been hairdressing since she was 15.

She works for Tony Marks 32 on Finkle Street.
