Farms will host guided walks on Saturday to mark National Meadows Day.
At High Nook Farm, Loweswater, work is under way to restore the health of the hay meadows bordering the lake.
At 10am people can begin a guided walk to see the different methods of conservation in action across three fields, from a more established hay meadow packed with wildflowers like red clover and eye bright, to two fields that are still in their infancy and developing over time.
At 2pm people can met farmer Tom Lorrains, who runs one of the highest altitude National Trust farms in the Lake District, at High Snab Farm, Newlands.
Visitors can hear about how traditional farming methods keep the hay meadow thriving and how years of care and attention have paid off and there are now more than 20 original species of wildflower in the flourishing nature-friendly meadow.
The National Trust has worked with its tenant farmers to arrange the events.
