Could Maryport be the fashion capital of West Cumbria?

Residents are certainly getting more than the usual opportunity to buy the latest fashions with three catwalk shows in the coming month.

The fashion season begins on Friday September 1, at 7pm with a show and pop-up shop at St Mary’s Church, which is being held to raise funds for the church.

HotMess Studios from Maryport is holding a fashion show on September 12 to raise money for Hospice at Home West Cumbria.

This is being held at Broughton Craggs Hotel, starting at 7pm with 25 models showing the latest trends in make-up, fashion and bridal ware.

There will be skincare demonstrations and “freebies” handed out as well as makeovers and make-up masterclasses.

The third opportunity to make Maryport beautiful is just three days later September 15.

This has been organised by ex-mayor Linda Radcliffe as her final fundraising event for Jack’s Journey.

Jack Gibson is the Flimby toddler who has been diagnosed with cancer. His parents, from the time of his diagnosis, have been raising money to help sick children and their families.

This show and pop-up shop, featuring clothing from high street shops, will be held at Grasslot Welfare Club starting at 7pm.

For tickets call Mrs Radcliffe on 01900 814181 or Samantha Gibson on 07799747554.
