Plans to allow up to 49 houses to be built in Seaton have been given the green light.
At a meeting of Allerdale's development panel on Tuesday, councillors voted unanimously in favour of the application by land owner Mark Hodgson to change the use of land on Lowca Lane, west of Hazelgrove, to residential.
The proposed development would be subject to an appropriate financial contribution for education, 20 per cent of the housing being affordable and a landscape management plan being put in place.
A new access to the site is proposed, agreed with Cumbria Highways.
