Captain Jack Sparrow, pirate of the Caribbean, was one of the guests who helped celebrate the restored Maryport lighthouse on Sunday.
Allerdale council put on a community fun day which included live music from Spud and Paul Rich and free fish and chips - or packets of crisps when the fish and chips ran out.
Orgnaiser, Debra Park, said at least 200 people turned out for the event.
"It was a great afternoon. You could have your photo taken with Captain Sparrow, enjoy music of all sorts, ride a rodeo bull and even have a massage," she said.
The town's iconic cast iron lighthouse, one of the oldest in the world, was given a £50,000 makeover including restoring the light.
It was officially re-opened in March but town centre manager Toni Magean said Sunday was the chance for everyone to celebrate.
