A law firm boss from Keswick and seven of his colleagues are preparing to conquer 10 mountains in 10 hours for charity.

Solicitor John Wilson and his team from Baines Wilson LLP in Carlisle will take part in the 10in10 challenge on June 5 in aid of the MS Society.

The team includes Martha Winn of Maryport and Lindsay Malthouse from Braithwaite.

Mr Wilson, partner and head of commercial law, said: "Our staff are very driven and motivated, so we're confident they’ll be ready for the challenge of climbing 10 mountains in 10 hours."

The team have set up a JustGiving page and set themselves a target of £250.

Yvonne Booth, of Keswick, started the 10in10 annual walking challenge in 2011 after her husband, Duncan, was diagnosed with the MS.

Every year 400 people take part in the event which has raised £169,000 over the years for research.

Walkers will set off from Swinside Inn, Newlands Valley on the shores of Derwentwater.

Before returning to the inn, they must hike over Causey Pike, Sail, Crag Hill, Wandope, Whiteless Pike, High Snockrigg, Robinson, Dale Head, High Spy, Maiden Moor.

For those not as keen on the 10in10 there is the 5in5 which this year starts in Buttermere and joins longer walk for the last five mountains.

There is also a new event for 2016 for those who think the 10in10 is not challenging enough.

The No Cure, Always Hope, Ultra Run is a 39-mile fell running challenge over 25 peaks with 17,000 ft of ascent.
