French revolutionaries will flock to Workington in February.

Workington Amateur Operatic Society's junior section will present Les Miserables: School Edition at the Carnegie Theatre from February 10 to 13.

The show follows the juniors' successful production of Grease this year.

More than 50 members are busy rehearsing for the show, which is directed by Tony McGee with musical direction by Liz Condron and choreography from Natasha Durham.

Connor McClenan takes on the role of Jean Valjean in his second show with the society, while Alex Murray plays opposite him as the misguided and self-destructive Javert.

Fresh from her role as Rizzo in Grease, Rebecca Milligan takes on the totally different character of Fantine in Les Mis and sings the popular number I Dreamed a Dream.

Sophie Mills, who played the mistress in the society's recent production of Evita, will play Eponine.

Thenardier and Madame Thenardier are played by Harry Douglas Brown and Chloe Steadman, providing comic relief from the serious side of this emotionally-charged story.

Amelia Crawford will play Cosette, while Andrew McMinn plays Marius.

Enjolras, the leader of Friends of the ABC, will be played

Andrew White.

The show also features Amelia McCarthy and Isabella Prit as Young Cosette, Poppy Leace and Danielle Potter as Young Eponine, Isaac Fillingham as Gavroche and Luke Collins as The Bishop.
