Young and old were brought together for a fun-filled day of activities on a Maryport estate.
Hillside was the place to last Friday as around 80 children and their families attended the event which was full of attractions to suit all age groups.
A cardboard art workshop, a bouncy castle and a hat parade entertained youngsters, as well as an outdoor cinema in a marquee.
A health bus was on site to provide information to residents and a smoothie bike which allowed children to create their own drinks by using just pedal power.
Although the family fun day, put on by housing group Your Derwent & Solway, was mainly aimed at children, there was plenty on offer for adults including a bingo session for the seniors.
Kath Peters, Your Derwent & Solway community support co-ordinator for Maryport, said the focus was on fun but there was also a serious side to the day.
She said: “This is being run as part of the join initiative between Allerdale council and ourselves.
"We have identified areas where we will be working including Hillside.
“There were quite a few objectives to the event. One was to talk to the residents and find out about any gaps in the service and provision we offer and another was to initiate a residents’ action group in the area.
“The day was a lot of fun and people really enjoyed it despite the rain. We had a real mix of people from babies in prams to seniors.”
Mrs Peters thanked the local businesses which donated prizes for the raffle, including The Co-operative for giving the star prize digital radio and LA Pets for a dog hamper.
