A NEW events assistant has been appointed by Workington town council.
Emma Chapman, 34, of Portland Square, Workington, will help events officer Amy Johnson.
Emma worked at the Cumberland Pencil Company for 10 years and was most recently their marketing and communications manager.
She said: "I'm very pleased. It's a great place to work. I'm very excited and there's so much going on now and next year already."
