As a snow warning has been issued for the area, we've taken a peek in our archives for the photos of one of the last times West Cumbria experienced a massive snow storm.

It was February 1996 and West Cumbria ground to a halt.

We've found photos taken by our photographers and pictures submitted by readers.

What are your memories of the snow in February 1996? Were you forced to sleep in Whitehaven Sports Centre because you couldn't get home?

We've also found this video on Youtube, put together by Paul Glenister, of the snow around Egremont in February 2006. The music is by Mike Glenister.

Dot Corlett sent us photos of the snow between Rowrah and Frizington.

The man in the JCB is Sydney Corlett.

Dot said: "He helped Cumbria County Council to clear the A5086 between Rowrah and Frizington.

"His family hardly saw him for two days...as long as he had his flask of tea he was right!"

Do you remember any other bad snowfalls?
