Around 200 artificial poppies are to be planted on the Irish Street roundabout in Maryport to mark Remembrance Sunday on November 13.
Town councillor Carni McCarron-Holmes has asked for the poppies, paid for by the council, to be planted around the flower boat in time for the occasion.
Ex-serviceman John Slater, with a small group of other veterans, will plant the poppies in the next couple of weeks.
