The Workington and District Amateur Musical Society production, based on the book by Amanda Brown and the smash hit film, will see Jack Pike play Warner Huntington III, the pompous ex-boyfriend of Becca Milligan’s lead character Elle Woods.
Jack admitted the role is a departure from his previous appearances and expects it to stretch his acting skills.
He said: “It’s really exciting to be a part of because it’s so funny. It’s something I’ve never done, being the antagonist while staying funny at the same time.
“The way the character is smooth and arrogant is not exactly how I am as a person so I’m really looking forward to it. It’s easy-going, light-hearted and everyone can have a laugh with it.”
Adam MacCreedy is taking on his biggest role yet as Elle’s love interest Emmett Forrest and, like Jack, found himself surprisingly excited after reading the script. He has also helped choreograph the show.
He said: “I normally go for quite a comedy role but this is more sarcastic and serious. I’ve really enjoyed working on it, it’s got a good flow and pace to it.”
Workington and District Amateur Musical Society will perform the show from April 19 to 22 at the Carnegie Theatre.
Tickets cost £14, and can be booked online at
