Maryport's annual Rocking for ME concert raised £600 on Saturday.

The event took place at Grasslot Welfare Club and was organised by the ME and Fibro North West Cumbria Support Group.

Money raised at the festival goes to the support group and will help to buy tens machines to help ease muscle pain, lightboxes for people affected by seasonal affective disorder and to support group outings.

The performers at this year's all-day event were Miss Dee, Plastic Paddy, Fireball, John and Wayne, Ex-Lepers, Byrne Jovi, Black Wolf Run and Stormcrowe.

Mustangz were unable to perform due to unforeseen circumstances.

Karen Little, support group chairman, said: "It went well. The people who were there enjoyed it.

"The atmosphere was really good and people were up dancing from the very beginning and there was lots of laughter.

"Whether we get one person or 100 people there coming to support our event we appreciate everyone who turns up."

The ME and Fibro North West Cumbria Support Group offers help for people who experience ME, also known as chronic fatigue syndrome, and fibromyalgia, a long-term condition that causes pain all over the body.

This year's concert is the fourth to have taken place.
