Rumours are spreading that one of The Apprentice candidates quit before starting the task in tonight's episode.

National newspapers say the candidate, who has not been named, found the show overwhelming and stressful.

But producers have not confirmed the rumour.

Rebecca Jeffery, 31, of Asby, near Lamplugh, is one of the people fighting to become Lord Sugar's business partner in the BBC One show.

In tonight's episode, the teams will be asked to introduce a new product line to promote and sell in department store Liberty of London.

They will also be tasked with running a personal shopping service.

Oliver Nohl-Oser, who runs a sausage-making factory in Maryport, was fired by Lord Sugar in last week's episode.
