Sessions for people with dementia and their carers will be held at Theatre by the Lake in Keswick.

During the theatre's Setting the Scene workshops, run by theatre practitioner Jenn Mattinson, people with dementia and their carers can share, be creative and meet other people.

A new theme is explored each week and typical activities include movement, music, storytelling and craft activities.

Funding has been provided by the Steel Charitable Trust, Gregg’s Foundation and the Skipton Building Society Charitable Foundation for the next 12 months.

Workshops will take place between now and June 30, July 28 to August 25, September 22 to December 8 and January 12 to March 23.

They take place on Thursdays at 11am.

Sessions are free but anyone wanting to attend should email Mary Elliott at mary.elliott@theatrebythelake.com or call 017687 81103 as some sessions take place outside the theatre.
