Susan Rider does not know if she is more concerned about losing her hair or seeing it growing back grey.

Susan, 42, a full-time carer of, Harriston, near Aspatria, is having her head shaved on Monday as part of a Macmillan Cancer Support Campaign, Brave the Shave.

She said was not looking forward to getting her hair cut off and added: "I am worried, though, than when it grows back everyone will see how grey I really am!"

But she said the cause was worthwhile.

She added: "I have had a cancer scare myself and I know people who have had cancer and seen the devastation it can cause in families."

She said this was something she was capable of doing and so she was doing it.

Her hair is being cut by Nicola Williamson, 32, the owner of Ambition hair salon on Market Place, Aspatria.

Nicola said: "I am looking forward to it but I am also looking forward to seeing what styles we can create for Susan in the future."

Susan said she would like to raise a minimum of £500.
