Paw Patrol's Chase is due to open a revamped play area at a Workington estate.

The TV series puppy will officially open the £45,000 play area at Wordsworth View, Salterbeck, on Monday. (November 14)

Workington mayor Joan Wright, will also be there to cut the ribbon at 1pm.

Children can meet Chase, burn off some energy and enjoy lunch, which is provided by Impact Housing.

The revamped play area, near the estate's Oval Centre, features swings, a climbing frame and a dish roundabout.

The project is funded by WREN, which gave £33,748 towards play equipment and renovation of the play court.

Workington Town Council has contributed £12,500 and Impact Housing and Salterbeck Residents' Association put £2,150 towards the project.

Penny Beaumont, WREN’s grant manager for Cumbria, said: "It's wonderful to see something we have funded finally open and ready to make such a difference to children and families in Salterbeck.

"WREN is always happy to consider grant applications for projects that benefit local communities and this is a great example of what can be achieved."
