A winter wonderland will bring festive joy to Workington this weekend.
The event takes place tomorrow and Sunday and will feature entertainment, a Christmas market and the Christmas lights switch-on.
On both days there will be performances at The Hub, Washington Street and the main stage on Murray Road including appearances from Workington Town Band, Workington and District Amateur Musical Society and Workington Youth Choir.
The Christmas lights will be turned on by Workington mayor Carole Armstrong at 6pm tomorrow.
The Christmas market, a festive photo booth, Christmas storytelling, facepainting, a craft fair at the Carnegie Theatre and Santa's Grotto will also be open from 10am tomorrow and Sunday.
Santa will be in his grotto in the former Fashion Lounge shop on Campbell Savours Way from 10am tomorrow and will be there every Saturday until Christmas as well as this Sunday and Sunday, December 20.
Workington Rotary Club has worked with Washington Square Developments and the town council to put on the event.
John Head, organiser, said: "We had about 1,200 kids last year and we expect to be inundated this weekend."
Visits to the grotto cost £2.50 per child and they will be given a gift when they go in.
Artist Gayle McCrickerd, 29, of Honister Drive, decorated the windows.
