Members of a Workington am dram group have taken inspiration from comedian James Corden in their efforts to raise awareness of their latest show.

Workington and District Amateur Musical Society members filmed their own video, inspired by the funnyman's Carpool Karaoke, to publicise Legally Blonde The Musical, which takes to the stage in April.

Carpool Karaoke is a regular feature of The Late Late Show, hosted by the comedian, featuring different singers and performers.

For their video, members of the Wadams cast took to group member Daniel MacCreedy's car, using a camera fitted to the dashboard to film the song Omigod Guys from the musical.

The video features Daniel, his brother Adam MacCreedy, Becca Milligan and Evie Askew.

Daniel said: "Pretty much everyone has watched or heard of James Corden's Carpool Karaoke and we thought we'd chance our arm.

"We spent about two hours driving around Workington and surrounding areas in my car, singing our hearts out, talking and having a laugh.

"The hardest part was editing two hours-worth of footage into five minutes.

"We just want people to see the energy we put in and hope that they can see what we could do on stage live."

A second video is in the pipeline.

Wadams will present Legally Blonde The Musical at the Carnegie Theatre on April 19 to 22 at 7.15pm.

It features Becca Milligan as Elle Woods, Adam MacCreedy as Emmet Forrest, Jack Pike as Warner Huntington III, Kimberley Fisher as Paulette Bonefonte, Philippa Hawley as Vivienne Kensington, Sophie Edmondson as Brooke Wyndham, Dan O'Hagan as Prof Callaghan, Ryan O'Hagan as Kyle B O'Boyle, and Rebekah Jardine, Abbie Johnson, Evie Askew as Delta Nu members.
