An exhibition about Allonby’s history will be held next month.

The village’s history group has spent 18 months researching 300 years of village life.

The findings will be on display at Allonby Village Hall from August 18 to August 22.

Spokeswoman Pam Jones said there will be a vast collection of photographs, documents and stories relating to various aspects of village life.

She added: “Tales of families, individuals, events and a lost way of life will be explored.”

The now defunct Mawbray History Group and contributors from across the county have helped the group mount the exhibition.

The exhibition will be open from 2pm to 7pm daily.

Admission is by donation and all proceeds will go to the Allonby Village Hall restoration fund.

Mrs Jones said she and the committee were still eager to hear from anyone with photographs, stories or information that could add to the village history.
