A West Cumbrian band has made it to the final of the biggest music competition in the North East.
No Idea will battle it out in the Soundwave Music Competition grand final on January 26.
The group will perform in front of a capacity crowd on the main stage of Newcastle’s O2 Academy, which has hosted the likes of Arctic Monkeys and Adele.
They were one of 25 bands to make it through to the penultimate round of Soundwave in October.
The band’s members are drummer Rob Logan, of Crosby, bassist Darren Green, of Workington, vocalist Sharan Stewart, of Whitehaven, and guitarist Russell Herbert, of Egremont.
Rob said: “We are absolutely delighted especially as the judges said they had never heard anything like it. I cannot believe we have reached the final in a big competition, against hundreds of other bands.”
No Idea played a set in front of eight judges, which was recorded, and then had a 30-minute interview.
No Idea have performed at local festivals and won a Battle of the Bands contest in 2010 to support Sham 69 at Cockermouth’s CockRock event.

No idea how!

Have your say
What a load of Cr%$, but then again it sounds like todays sort of so called music. Groups these days would not know music if it jumped up and bit them.
