Six staff from Workington’s Rosecroft residential home will take part in the Midnight Walk tonight to raise money for Hospice at Home West Cumbria.

Senior carers Emma Christopherson and Rebecca Gunning and carers Natalie Straughton, Donna Stephenson, Christine Coleman and Elaine Johnston will take part in the six-mile fund-raising walk around Workington.

The women, from Workington and Flimby, hope to raise around £300.

Emma said: “We wanted to help team building and to raise money for a worthy charity that does so much for people in West Cumbria.”

Hospice at Home West Cumbria, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, provides home nursing and support to patients, carers and families.

It needs to raise about £500,000 a year to keep its services going.

Entry forms are still available from the hospice fund-raising office at Cumberland House, Oxford Street, Workington, its charity shops and the Times & Star office in Oxford Street, Workington.
