Proposal for 35 Brigham homes

Plans are in the pipeline to build 35 homes in Brigham to help secure the village’s future.
Social landlord Home Group wants to build the estate for local people in a field behind High Brigham.
Of the 35 houses, 12 will be sold on the open market, 12 will be available for shared ownership and 11 will be for rent.
Home Group will hold an informal drop-in session on Monday at Brigham Village Hall for people to view the plans.
Elsa Brailey, Home Group development manager, said: “We are very keen to hear the views of residents as early as possible so we can work with them to provide the types of homes they would like to see in the village.
“We will potentially incorporate those ideas into the final planning application.
“We believe that by building homes in this area it will help to secure vital services within Brigham and help ensure the sustained viability of the village.
“New homes will bring new people and an increased demand for local services including the village shop, bus services and other local amenities.”
The drop-in session will take place between 3.30pm and 7.30pm.

The only way I can see this as a benefit to the village is if the planners ensure the buildings are in keeping with the village and if the shared ownership and rented houses are offered to people from the village as a priority. Perhaps then people who were raised there wouldnt be forced to move away to cheaper areas when they buy their 1st homes.
