Seaton street goes one-way

A busy street in Seaton is set to be made one-way to help ease traffic congestion.
About two years ago a one-way system on Causeway Road was approved by Cumbria County Council as part of a highways review.
Budget constraints meant it was delayed but it has now been given the go-ahead.
Trevor Fee, chairman of Seaton Parish Council, said: “It will be better for the flow of traffic. With cars parked on both sides, it’s very difficult for two-way traffic.”
He said it was hoped that the new system will be in place within the next three months and that the flow of the one-way system will go from left to right when entering from the main road.
A Cumbria County Council spokeswoman said: “We are working with contractors to establish a start date on the new system, and once this is agreed letters will go out to local residents informing them of the change and start date.”
Meanwhile, Coun Fee said that the implementation of double yellow lines on Causeway Road will be suspended until after the one-way system is in place.
But double yellow lines will be put on Main Road, near the zebra crossing.

Never had any problem travelling up or down Causeway Road - I have had to stop for opposing traffic once or twice but nothing to put me off using it in either direction
I wonder if this one way system is being implemented purely for the residents who actually live on this short stretch? It would be better if it was described as such, rather than a wishy-washy statement by Mr Fee which states the obvious.Oh, and while the resurfacing squad is in town, perhaps they could skim and resurface Church Road as well - it's getting a bit patchy with holes and puddles in wet weather.
