Young mayor to take office in Workington

Workington's youngest town councillor is preparing to take the reins as he becomes mayor on Wednesday.
I know this young lad, and to be fair to him he is more mature and polite than many older people in general, not just in offices with responsibility.
Being an elected member is often thankless, and on a Twon Council VOLUNTARY- Good on you, good luck. Perhaps John Smiths could see if there are any vacancies on thier local council?Well 'John smiths'are you implying that you could do a better job? why havent you ran for council? Give the lad a chance, you never know what will come out of it. Or are you one of these people that will shoot a place down instead of letting it blossom? you keep to your john smiths

Have your say
What a closed minded and negative comment to make about a young person. We need people from all walks of life involved in our democratic processes. Wisdom is not the preserve of older people either.
