What your settee says about your relationship

Was it St Valentine himself that decided that his legacy was to be an international day where gestures of love were to be expensive, grand and reserved for one day only? Of course, every girl likes to be spoilt, but often you’d prefer something more eternal than a traditional candlelight dinner, box of chocolates or bunch of flowers. After all, isn’t everyone in want of everlasting love?
With that in mind, sometimes it’s just as special to spend the night splayed across the sofa together, rather than engaging in the traditional Valentine’s Day hype. Surprisingly, a couch may be a more romantic setting than a 5-star restaurant.
While this may sound farfetched, home furniture stands for much more than an expiratory gesture does. There are some things that people buy with the intention of it lasting for many, many years. Of course, a house and a car come into this category, but staple household items do too – the fridge, bed and couch for example.
A sofa is something you buy with the intent of keeping. It’s an investment piece that you expect to last and because of that, you’re willing to spend a lot of money and time on one. Similar to a relationship, sofas have to be comfortable, supportive and always there for you.
Buying a sofa together for your lounge or agreeing on a fridge for your kitchen is a huge sign of commitment for a couple. It forms the basis of beginning to build a life together and can be an invitation to move in together, or a solidifying move in your relationship. As a couple, a sofa says a lot about you.
What type of settee best reflects your relationship?
Bold
A quirky and loud couch full of character is perfectly suited to a couple who want to show their love in every shape and form. A bold design, like the new love sofa from sofa specialists CSL, will clearly display your deep affections and position the sofa as distinctly representative of this.
Recliner
Couples who recline together, stay together. Or so they say. These extremely comfortable and luxury style of couches are made for couples who share a love of films and television shows. They’re ideal for cuddling up together and offer plenty of space to stretch your legs. As a form of hybrid between a sofa and a bed, the only problem you’ll come across is having to drag yourself off it.
Leather
A leather sofa is all glamour, sophistication and style. Long-lasting, durable and timeless, leather is one of the most dependable fabrics you can choose. Couples who are after leather seats share the same characteristics in their relationship and are after supreme comfort. Sofa beds
These handy and convertible sofas are made for the social couple. If you love to entertain and frequently invite friends and family over for catch-ups and social gatherings, then having the extra bed handy for those late-stayers will be a necessary option.
