Netherhall Under-13 girls have been in action over the last two weekends at festivals.
Last Sunday they played five games in the Penrith festival against Kendal, Penrith, Cockermouth/Kirby Lonsdale, Keswick and Annan.
All the games were very well contested and as usual there was excellent tackling and running skills on display, with plenty of tries being scored.
A spokesman for the club said: “The girls are really playing well with improvements evident in every skill area.
“All the hard work at training is really paying off.”
The previous week the under-13s kicked off the new season with a trip to the Kendal festival where they played six games.
For many of the girls in attendance it was their very first game and there was some very good rugby played throughout the day.
The spokesman added: “We are delighted with Netherhall’s performance. For their very first game out, there was some excellent tackling and running on display.
“All the girls have trained very hard since forming in January of this year and it was very apparent by the excitement on their faces that they all fully enjoyed their day.”
The under-13s are part of Netherhall’s ever-expanding women’s and girls’ section. They now have teams playing at Under-13, 15 and 18 age groups.
Training for the side is every Wednesday at 6pm.
