Spirits are high at Reds as they look to capitalise on their mid week win with a triumph on the road.
Workington AFC take on Ossett United on Saturday in the next step of the North West Division. The away game comes off the back of a big win against Clitheroe on Tuesday. The Reds were tied with Clitheroe going in the dying moments of the game but an eleventh hour goal by new recruit Reuben Jerome took them to a 2-1 victory.
Manager Danny Grainger hopes to capitalise on the good fortune this weekend.
“It won’t be an easy game there are no easy games in this league whether they’re at the top end or the bottom end of the league. We’ll look at the lads at training on Tuesday and decide on the team that will win the game. We need to make sure we’re ready for it.”
Grainger added that Workington need to be on form for every game as they are competing in a tough league.
“When you look at last year there was a massive gap between the top 5 or six and the rest of the league.”
The team are motivated to take on their next opponents.
“There’s positivity all around the ground, there’s positive things happening behind the scenes, on the terraces and in the changing rooms.”
