Workington Reds' FA Trophy trip to Glossop North End tomorrow can be the perfect platform for fringe players to stake a claim, insists assistant manager Steve Rudd.
The strength of the squad that boss Danny Grainger has at his disposal means that there will always be talented players waiting in the wings for their chance.
And Rudd believes that, with a number of changes set to be made to Grainger's side for tomorrow's clash (kick-off 3pm), the players granted an opportunity can force their way into the coaching staff's thinking.
"Lads sometimes have to wait patiently for their chance," Rudd said. "Those players who do come into the team, this is their chance to show why they should be starting."
Among the proven performers on the bench last weekend were Ceiran Casson, Dav Symington and Charlie Bowman.
